So it seems that running the bookings for a church hall is an absolute minefield!
As there is no caretaker, we volunteers, all over 70, have to take on responsibility for the running, cleaning, maintenance and general well-being of a beautiful hall, built some 15 years ago, without any outside help.
When OH and I said we would take over not only the bookings but also the Treasurer job we did not anticipate the amount of effort and time that would have to be expended in those particular roles.
Added to that, my lovely A, diagnosed with bowel cancer, required all my strength and support since November, I am reminded that time is precious and I should make the most of what I have left.
Another sorrow in my life is the demise of my choral society. The pandemic was always going to be problematic but in our case it has been terminal and I am devastated. After 17 years trying to keep the ship afloat I am, at last, giving in to the inevitability of the last sessions. At least we will go out with a bang and a wonderful concert planned of the Mozart Requiem, most of which I can sing without the score!
